We Believe
The Mission Statement of Our Church Our mission at Bethel Lutheran Church and Preschool is to provide solid, meaningful and enriching opportunities for worship, education and service in a wholesome Christian setting so that each adult, young person and child can reach for the potential God created them to realize. At Bethel Lutheran Church and Preschool . . . .we are "being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His spirit." Eph. 2:22 The Mission Statement of Our Preschool The mission of Bethel Lutheran Preschool is to serve children and families by demonstrating, teaching and sharing God’s love. We strive to instill a passion for learning, maintain a nurturing environment and using developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum. We encourage children, families, and staff to serve others and to spread God’s love in our community. Vision
Our vision is to strive to create an environment that teaches and fosters the love of God as manifested in Jesus Christ, and to further that love in all people with whom we come into contact, including our staff members, the preschool families and children. The church and preschool are not separate entities. Rather, we strive to be a ministry for the whole family, equally as concerned and available for preschool parents and families as we are for the children enrolled in the preschool. Philosophy
We offer meaningful worship, helpful education, and enriching service opportunities for adults as well as children. As our preschool motto indicates, we teach each child (and adult) that they are a 'unique gift, created by God' to reflect his love and his life to the corner of the world they inhabit. We also strive to develop a love of learning that can aid each child through his/her life experiences. We teach Christian values through intentional lessons, as well as by the example we set for one another. Our preschool curriculum is designed to foster socialization, encourage creative and intellectual growth, enhance physical development, develop problem solving skills and achieve kindergaraten readiness. Through varied activities and lessons they are taught to make good choices, to follow directions and to be good listeners. They learn about God's love and how to share that love with others. We strive to develop a thirst and an aptitude for learning through developmentally appropriate activities and through play experiences. We teach communication skills and the development of good interpersonal relationships. We encourage individual creativity, as well as spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth in a church and school setting where each adult, young person and child can develop at their own rate and in accord with their personal circumstances. We believe the preschool years hold the promise of a bright future for our children and their families. |
